The carving on the Babylonian black stone shown above depicts a scene of goddess Ninishkum imploring the winged goddess Ishtar for a great favor. Ishtar, a very powerful deity is standing in the center of the cylinder seal, placing her right foot over the back neck of a lion and holding a scimitar, symbol of power and military might. The dress design of Ishtar is extremely informative. The horizontal lines ornamental pattern in a form of quasi-curve alignment refer to her divine status.
