this tattoo is clearly in Armenian, i can make out all the words, but I don’t get it. It’s like unfinished. Or maybe the grammar is incorrect.

DIE ZEIT: In one of the most striking images of the photo collection, one sees letters of the Armenian alphabet which have been installed as sculptures in the countryside near the town of Artashavan. Why is this motif important to you?
WIM WENDERS: A monument for an alphabet! It moved me a great deal. Armenia is a small country without access to the sea, without natural resources. They have nothing aside from their apricots. At some point it became clear to me that this country has only lasted thanks to its alphabet. A monk created it in the third century and thereby laid the cornerstone for an entire culture. Without its own script, this culture would have been lost.

Are you a Metalhead? Well if you are, the chances are that you have heard about the System of Down reunion. Although they are going to tour in limited countries, nonetheless I’m really excited for their comeback after five years. I remember the first time I saw their debut album, the album cover instantly grabbed my attention.
Of course I was double excited when I found out that the members of the band were all of Armenian background, I’m Armenian. I must admit they were the first metal band that I liked and it’s not because I was biased but because their music spoke to my heart. That was during my high school years. These days I listen to electronic music. However, occasionally I might listen to their songs as well. Over the time I also have bought all of their albums, I also try to collect articles or anything related to them from magazines and such.
